Leslie Runs For Superior Court Judge Seat

By Amanda Smith

The Honorable Judge Cedric T. Leslie announced recently his intention to run for Superior Court Judge of the Macon Judicial Circuit.  The election will be held on November 7, 2006.

Judge Leslie has presided over the bench as Associate Judge of Civil & Magistrate Court of Bibb County for the past year and a half.  Previously, he owned his own firm (Law Office of Cedric Thomas Leslie) for eighteen years.

He and his wife Helen, have three grown children, Elizabeth, Quintress, and Thomas.

When asked his opinion of Drug Court, Judge Leslie remarked “I think it’s a good idea.  A lot of judges don’t like it, but I think Tommy Day Wilcox has created one of the best drug courts in the state.”

Judge Leslie has presided over a myriad of cases and feels that he is the most qualified for the seat.  “After 18 years, I have more of a variety of experience in Superior Court than all the other opponents put together,” he said
